About
Campaign 2000 is a cross-Canada, non-partisan coalition committed to ending child and family poverty in Canada. Launched in 1991 in response to the House of Commons’ 1989 all-party resolution to eliminate child poverty by the year 2000, the campaign continues to advocate for strong public policy rooted in equity, human rights, and lived experience.
While that goal remains unmet, our work continues. Grounded in community partnerships, lived experience, and research, we advocate for strong, equitable public policy solutions that address the root causes of poverty. Through our annual report cards, policy analysis, and public education efforts, we work to ensure that every child and family in Canada has the opportunity to thrive.
